அரைமுடி
அரைமுடி அல்லது அரசிலை என்பது சிறிய வெள்ளி உலோகத்தாலான இதய வடிவ அல்லது அரச இலை வடிவ அணிகலன் ஆகும். இந்தியாவின் தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலம் மற்றும் இலங்கையின் சில பகுதிகளில் புழக்கத்தில் இருந்து வந்த இந்த ஆபரணம் பெண் குழந்தைகளுக்கு அரைஞாணுடன் கோர்த்து அணிவிக்கப்படும். [1][2][3] “அரை“ என்பது இடுப்பு பாகத்தையும் “முடி” என்றால் மூடுதல் என்றும் பொருள்படும் .[4] இதனை 'அரசிலை', 'அலமாடி' என்று கிழக்கிலங்கை முஸ்லிம்கள் அழைக்கின்றர்.
1966 ஆம் ஆண்டில் எம். எஸ். சந்திரசேகர் எழுதிய “புதுக்கோட்டை அருங்காட்சியகத்திக் முக்கிய காட்சிப்பொருட்களின் கையேடு” "Guide to the principal exhibits in the Government Museum, Pudukkottai" என்ற ஆங்கில நூலில் “பிறப்புறுப்புக் கவசம்” என அரைமுடி குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
சென்னை மாகானத்தின் சேலம் மாவட்டத்தை பற்றிய கையேட்டின் முதல் தொகுதியில் குழந்தைகள் சில நேரங்களில், பத்து வயது அல்லது அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயது வரை, நிர்வாண நிலையில் இருப்பதை தவிர்க்கும் நோக்கில் இடுப்பைச் சுற்றிய ஒரு கயிற்றில் இதய வடிவிலான வெள்ளித் தகடு அல்லது “அரைமுடி” அணியப்பட்டதாக விவரிக்கிறது. "[5]
